The only President to have degrees from Yale and Harvard

That would be George W Bush.

And the liberals want you to think he’s dumb.  Hardly… Maybe loyal to a fault, but he’s not dumb.

Universities and Government – They control your life path!

Pajamas Media » Universities and Government Bureaucracies: The Left’s ‘Chokepoint Charlies’.

We all have dealt with universities and government bureaucracies. They share one thing in common… They have more than the usual share of people who derive some pleasure from “planning” how people’s lives should evolve and unfold.

This runs completely counter to the “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness” clause in the Declaration of Independence.  Let’s not forget that document PRECEDED our great Constitution.

When one goes to Washington DC and gets to see the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and Declaration of Independence under glass, you begin to appreciate the timeless value of these documents.  They’ve endured and lived on for many generations now.

My contention is that someone has to remind university officials and government officials that they own the responsibility to help people realize their talents and then get out of the way as the become (and continue) to be upstanding citizens.

Individual enterprise and uniqueness and freedom of thought and freedom of movement has to be at the core of who we are and what we do as a country.

Anyone out there care to argue the other side… Does the ‘conformity’ aspect of modern liberalism, with all its “being fair to all people, all the time” hamper our ability to have individual expression, thought, initiative and a capitalistic economy?

The other point I’d make is if you think the liberal view points that come out of colleges and government is good for the long-term health of the country, you need to consider what is it that makes government/university policy makers different from the rest of us.  How many of these people have

  1. Run payroll and balanced a budge at a business of any size where the profit/loss was directly on their heads?
  2. Managed teams of people who do jobs where the people need active coaching/mentoring to be successful?
  3. Had to struggle with the investment and cash flow issues that are part of any businesses?
  4. Dealt with product development, manufacturing and sales?

Then… Why do we have a lot of people in government and academia who know next to NOTHING about these things?  Is it any wonder that colleges turn out graduates that are not always prepared for the careers they embark on? Is it also any wonder that government pursues regulations that do not help foster a balance between consumers and businesses, but ultimately put businesses out of commission?

Should Shirley Sherrod get her job back?

Hot Air » Should Shirley Sherrod get her job back?.

I think she should.  Government needs all the help it can get in having officials that are going to be color-blind, and equal in how they treat all people.  But, at the same time, understand when injustices are done so they can be corrected.

It is a myth that conservatives don’t believe in equality.  We believe in equality of opportunities.  Not equality of outcomes.  People will rise as far as their God given talents can take them.  But, not everyone has the same possibility to realize those talents.  That’s what we need to keep doing as a country.

The really damaging part of this is how quick the NAACP, and the White House were to damage the credibility and reputation of this woman.  That should make you wonder what is the “shelf life” of other people who appear to screw up.  The bus that Obama’s driving has a LOT of people thrown under it now…

NAACP and Glenn Beck agree: People rushed to judgment on Sherrod

I’ll admit, even I did too.  But, the true story is out now and we should all be ashamed of the fact that the press seems to pursue the “jackal” mentality. Pile on, run someone’s name through the dirt and ask questions later (maybe…)

Am I the only one wanting our media to stop, look, listen, and think before reporting something?

Government Control of Fox News? It could happen.

Hot Air » Journolisters debate, endorse gov’t control of Fox News.

Well… This shouldn’t be a surprise.  Liberals have made no secret of the fact they hate Fox News.  So, the bigger question is when the American people will “call” them on the bias by refusing to watch/read their content anymore.

Liberals in the media, for the most part, want to make conservatives feel dumb or stupid, or render their communications channels irrelevant.

Fox News is NOT a partisan organization.  I personally know of a number of people who work there who are liberals. Apparently “fair and balanced” doesn’t resonate with the liberals, now does it??

Watch this.  The only hope of toppling the regime in Tehran is for opposition like this to materialize.

Also watch whether our Administration does anything to help them.  Last year, you’ll recall, on this blog we did show how the administration wasn’t doing much.  Wonder if that’ll repeat itself?

Liberal journalists suggest government shut down Fox News « » Print The Daily Caller – Breaking News, Opinion, Research, and Entertainment

Grrr…. What did you expect?  Liberals would NEVER give Fox News a chance, would they?

Well… I suppose the declining ratings of MSNBC, CNN and the big 3 networks show that people don’t want to buy the biased reporting that these outlets are feeding us.

This is really dangerous.

If we appoint and confirm a Supreme Court justice that has demonstrated their willingness to look past the national security threat of Sharia groups, and let them get involved financially with her educational institution… That’s a really bad thing.

I am bitterly disappointed by this because the mainstream media did not report on this, and she is all but assured to be confirmed.

Dick Morris is not an ideologue.  If he finds this stuff through research, you can bet it is legit and it is, potentially, very damaging to our national security.

Obama hits low in Quinnipiac approval rating

Hot Air » Obama hits low in Quinnipiac approval rating.

Not surprising.  Definitely the Gallup poll from last week is now proven to be an outlier.

The question on everyone’s mind today is when the President abandons his plans so that he can save his party.  Or, does he just continue on, assume he loses the US House to the Republicans, and then see how he can position himself for 2012?

Keep an eye on independents in these polls from Quinnipiac, Rasmussen and other outlets. If they continue to break solidly against the President, his prospects for 2012 are going to start looking bleak.

This should scare you…. Unemployment Duration Goes Way Up

Well, this seems to indicate that we’re in uncharted waters. The jobs being lost are not coming back and finding other jobs for those who have been laid off is proving to be a big challenge.

I’m not sure I buy the idea that inflation won’t come back at some point, but we’d all better take the attitude that something could happen and be prepared for it.
